Innersync fuels aerospace innovation
Avetec selects Innersync to develop interactive web site with education portal
03/06/08
Among many goals, the Avetec web site aims to get students involved in aerospace technology with hands-on, fun opportunities to discover how science, technology, engineering and math translate into real life.
SPRINGFIELD, OH - After a search for the ideal provider, AVETEC, a powerful consortium dedicated to the advancement of the jet engine industry, has chosen Innersync to lead in the development of their online initiatives that will stream information to its constituents at business speed. The very progressive nature of AVETEC and its people requires a set of tools that will empower them and enable them to publish latest industry news and technological breakthroughs to various audiences.
Along with a cutting-edge, sleek interface design to reflect the AVETEC brand, the new web site will utilize Innersync's Imagespace digital asset management system and Innersuite content management system to "push" streaming media, RSS/XML feeds, a blog and utilize much of the latest technology available on the Internet.
The goal is to clearly establish AVETEC as the leading technology enterprise that not only develops, but also commercializes new technologies and products for both industry and government through advanced modeling and simulation. Scientists, student researchers, business executives and fellow peers all have preferred methods of how they access information on the Internet and Innersync was selected to allow the latest, daily changing information to trickle down through the relevant parts of the new AVETEC web site.
AVETEC is a not-for-profit public benefit research organization whose purpose is to facilitate a dramatic reduction in the cost and time it takes to design, develop and test new turbine engines for commercial and military applications. Working together with industry, the Air Force, NASA, and academia, AVETEC will develop a world-class modeling and simulation capability that allows engineers to design, test and modify engines in a virtual setting.
DICE, or Data Intensive Computing Environment, is a new approach to investigating emerging technology solutions for the High Performance Computing (HPC) community. The ultimate goal is to improve the time-to-solution of complex engineering and scientific problems.
AVETEC's Campusuite CMS and Imagespace digital asset management implementation is consistent with a wave of migration to Web 2.0 technologies and "cloud computing," as evidenced by Google's recent unveiling of its Chrome® open-source web browser. Similarly, Campusuite employs these same user-centric technologies to keep the IT "back end" of the software effectively invisible to the user, while providing increasingly powerful applications through web browsers.
